Buy 1 Get 1 FREE at the crocs outlet

I received an email this morning that the crocs outlet has their shoes buy 1 get 1 free today. I checked them out and shoes start at $9.99. So you could get 2 pair for 5 dollars each! That's not a bad price for some comfy sandals to wear this summer. Sizes are pretty limited so you might have to look around a little.

They have some Dora, Minnie Mouse, and Hannah Montana for the little ones.

Oh and shipping is free through the end of December!
You can get an additional 36% off when you stack the codes MYCOUP20 and CROCSHOLIDAY.

Here's a free book for you

If you didn't venture out to get all of the deals for the day after Christmas, I found where you can get a free book. Crown Publishing group is offering to send you a free book. There are three choices.

Breaking Out of Bedlam, Cora Sledge is horrified when her children, who doubt her ability to take care of herself, plot to remove her from her home. So what if her house is a shambles? Who cares when she last changed her clothes? If an eighty-two-year-old widow wants to live on junk food, pills, and cigarettes, hasn’t she earned the right? When her kids force her into The Palisades, an assisted living facility, Cora takes to her bed, planning to die as soon as possible. But life isn’t finished with her yet, not by a long shot.

Prima Donna, Opera singer Sabine Conrad is the toast of nineteenth-century New York high society. A celebrated soprano with the voice of an angel, she is showered with adulation by her audiences and courted by wealthy patrons. But behind the scenes, her every move is controlled by a Svengali-like manager, Gideon Price. When her attempt to escape him goes tragically awry, she flees, leaving behind a grisly murder.

True Confections, Take chocolate candy, add a family business at war with itself, and stir with an outsider’s perspective. This is the recipe for True Confections, the irresistible new novel by Katharine Weber, a writer whose work has won accolades from Iris Murdoch, Madeleine LâEngle, Wally Lamb, and Kate Atkinson, to name a few.

I chose True Confections. This is a while supplies last offer.

The most yummiest time of the year!

Hello friends, I thought I would share a few of the treats I have made or will be making or want to make :) if time allows. I'm sure everyone has their menu all planned out but maybe next time you can use one of these.

First off, I made these delicious cream cheese sugar cookies, and modified it using the first comment "Reviewed on Dec. 4, 2006 by Cherish". I also baked them at 350* for 10 minutes.

Speaking of Bake at 350, she really is one of my favorite baking sites. She makes some of the most beautiful cookies. I was inspired to actually frost and flood my cookies, something I have never tried. It was actually pretty easy and I imagine would be real simple if your cookie collection didn't include Nemo and Dory, a non Christmasy tree, Christmas dinosaurs, moose, horses, hearts, and then all the usual. I used her recipe for Royal icing here.

I made cookies for our bake sale at church, that we have every year, to raise money for the bus ministry. I am not going to share any of those recipes with you because they were just okay, you know the ones that come on the back of the chip bag. I am going to share the one that I found to make those wonderfully delicious, melt in your mouth yumminess Red Velvet Cake balls. I found this recipe over at Bakerella. Now the ones I had were frosted in a royal icing, that was colored pink. So you could customize these for any holiday.
My Dad was done in California for Thanksgiving and Lynn brought Frog eye salad to Malissa's. Well everyone has raved about it since then, so it is being added to our Christmas dinner menu. Here's the recipe she used minus the coconut.
I'm also going to make my Grandma's butterscotch haystacks, and my Mom's shrimp ball for Christmas day, oh and hash brown casserole for an easy Christmas morning breakfast. It has become one of my favorites and it freezes really well. I use breakfast sausage in mine and Hash brown O'Briens that have the onions and peppers in them already to save me a step.
So there's my cooking plans for the next couple of days. I hope you all are enjoying this wonderful time of the year with those you love.

Where the Wild Things Are large floor puzzle $4.99

I LOVE Where the Wild things Are! No, I did not see the movie or take my kids to see it. I didn't want to ruin the book for me and the last time we checked out the book from the library Lincoln wasn't too thrilled with it(he's scared of monsters).

Anyhow, Amazon has a 2x3 floor puzzle of Where the Wild Things Are for just $5.00. They are also offering a free one month trial to Prime which will give you 2 day shipping and get your puzzle here by Christmas.
I can't wait until one of my kids loves this book as much as I did!

Frosty the Snowpuddle

Aren't these the cutest little treats you have ever seen? I think they would fun to make with the boys. I found them over at Gourmet Mom on the Go. They look really easy so I think a trip to the store is in order and we will make these this weekend. Here is the link to the recipe on her sight.

For my fellow Grind and Brew lovers

My parents gave us a Melitta Grind and Brew for Christmas a few years back and I LOVE IT!!! Unfortunately they don't make them anymore. But here is a different one from Amazon. They have the Cuisinart Grind and Brew on sale for $105. This is regularly $235. And of course since it is over $25 it qualifies for free shipping.

Pink Radio Flyer Scooter $19 at Walmart

Walmart has the Radio Flyer My first Scooter in PINK for just $19. If you do ship to store for free shipping it won't make it in time for Christmas but if you don't mind it's a great deal. Now if they will only mark down the red one I would get it for my boys.

Looking to decorate a gingerbread house?

These gingerbread houses are a local favorite here in Oregon City. They make and bake and prep and cut and even assemble if you want, and they provide all the candy. Yes I know you can go to Freddy's and buy a kit in a box, but these are fresh, you could actually eat it if you wanted. They are really cute with different designs to choose from. They even have them for Valentine's day and Halloween. They dropped off some cookies for the girls at The UPS Store last year that I was able to try and boy were they good. Especially with that yummy pumpkin dip I made. So if you need a special gift to send that has that locally made feel you could try them out. I just helped the boys make the gingerbread house ornaments tonight and they had a lot of fun. I can't wait to hang them on our Christmas tree.

Okay I see everyone else write these disclaimers so I think maybe I am supposed to also. I was not given anything to write this post. The company does not even know I did this. I did sample some of the cookies given to the local UPS Store last year, but that's it.

TWO Step2 Cafe Barista play sets for the price of one

Okay this is too cute. I wish Allie was a little older so I could get it for her. I still just might get it and save it :) This is perfect for all those coffee loving mamas out there with little ones who want to be just like them. I have to learn how to copy pictures on here so you can see this but I guess you will just have to click through to the link.

Step2 has two Cafe Barista play sets for the price of one right now while they are running their twelve days of Christmas specials. You have to sign up for their email to get the code but it states they will only email you 12 times with the 12 codes.

So for $32.00 you could have 2 Christmas presents checked off your list or a birthday present or two.

FREE Christmas songs from Amazon

Amazon has about 20 free Christmas songs you can download right now. You can listen to a portion of them to see which ones fit your style. There is a good variety and should be something for everyone.

Happy Day after Turkey Day!

Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving?
Did you take a moment to remember to be truly grateful for all that you have been blessed with?
I did, and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with family, friends, good food, and memories shared and made. Plus we had a surprise announcement that our extended family is growing! Malissa and Ken will have their latest addition join our world in July. I can't wait. Congratulations guys!

We, of course, made way too much food. We had 5 adults and 5 kids, with the oldest child being five and the youngest, my Allie, being five weeks, so they don't eat too much. We had 3 pies and pumpkin bars and that was just for dessert. Needless to say we will be eating left overs for a while.

I made a very yummy Mexican chicken corn chowder the day before Thanksgiving. Silly me! I wish I would have waited and I could have used some leftover turkey instead and changed things up a bit. So if any of you have way too much turkey leftover and you are not sure what to do with it, give this a try. I think the only modifications I made was I used some of my own chicken broth instead of bouillon, I added two cut up potatoes, and a can of regular corn . I omitted the tomatoes because my hubby doesn't like them and saved the hot sauce for the table so the kids could still eat it. This was delicious. I liked it both with and without the added hot sauce. Ryan liked it too so it is one I will add to my soup rotation.

I just found this recipe and if you ever looked at the blogs I follow you might have seen it already. It is for Caramel Pumpkin Pie with Pecan Streusel. This looks incredible. I like pumpkin pie but it's not a favorite. I enjoy having a piece for traditions sake but would never just make one for the heck of it. My Mom did start changing it up though and instead of milk she uses egg nog and it is pretty tasty. I think I would like to try this recipe for Christmas though or maybe the bake sale at church. If any of you give it a spin let me know I would love to hear how it turned out for you.

Well, it is late, and I have rambled on enough. Thank you everyone for sharing this new journey with me I am so very lucky.

A different kind of stain remover

I have a baby shirt I have washed and washed and washed and have never been able to get the stain out of it. I don't remember what the stain is now, but every time I bring a new stain cleaner home I try it and nothing has gotten it out. The shirt is part of a set so that is why I have been so persistent. Well the other day I poured Hydrogen Peroxide on it and threw it into the pile of kids clothes to be washed. The pile sat a few days and I forget it was in there and washed and dried it. Well, when I was folding it I remembered what shirt it was and couldn't believe it when all the stains were gone. SO now I will keep a bottle of this next to the washing machine for those stubborn stains.
I'm sure this is something similar to Oxy Clean but that didn't work on this shirt either. I have only had Oxy Clean work once for me and that is when I boiled a shirt in it :) but that's a different post.

$3 credit towards MP3's at Amazon

If you click here you can get a $3.00 credit to your account for MP3's. Most of them are $.99 so it's three new songs for your play list. You have to sign into your Amazon account first. I did it last night and received me confirmation email and it went through just fine. You have to use the credit up by the end of the month.

More ways to get free stuff

Today I remembered that I have a Swagbucks account. Have you heard of Swagbucks? It's a search engine that gives you points randomly for searching the web like Google. Now I don't use it every time or even daily, but I sure wish I did. You can cash in your points for Amazon gift cards. Right now I have enough to get $25.00 in Amazon gift cards. It's not much, but it will buy one more present on my list. I just wish I had been using it faithfully since I signed up, who knows how much I would have by now.
Signing up is easy, I don't get junk mail from them so there is no need to worry about that. You could bookmark them so you remember to use them or you can download their toolbar so you have easy access to the search function. I am going to do that today. Occasionally their are special codes leaked you can enter to get more points and if you refer a friend you get points when they do up to 100. So lots of friends equals lots of points for you.

Here's my referral link if anyone wants to give it a try. Thanks. Now I am going to go do some shopping on Amazon. Have you checked out their Black Friday lightening deals yet, they are happening daily.

Free Paper Plates at Walgreens

Free Vanity Fair plates at Walgreens

Vanity Fair plates are buy one get one free at Walgreens this week. If you have the All You magazine from October there was a buy one get one free coupon in there. Thanks commonsensewithmoney

How to get more free stuff

I want to share another way that I am able to get free things today. Since I started following blogs and reading what the internet world has to say at the beginning of the year, I have won 3 different give aways. These contests usually just involve leaving a comment, for an extra entry they may ask you to become a follower of them and or their sponsor, they may ask you to tweet about their contest for another entry, or to make a post about it for another.
I usually enter 1-2 contests a week from blogs that I follow regularly. At one time I entered every contest and who knows maybe I won one of them but not all email you, sometimes they write a post and you have to respond. Well I couldn't keep track of who I had read or what I had entered so that's why now I just do those I follow.
I have won a twilight gift package that had the DVD, the book, a book bag, a messenger bag, dog tags, key chains, and more. I'm sorry but I don't remember from where but I think it was Keeping the Kingdom First. I won samples of lotions from a boutique in Portland from http://www.twoheartstogether.com/. I won tickets to the Parade of Homes in the Pearl from another blog. And I just won a coupon to Old Navy from http://www.thriftynorthwestmom.com/.
That's 4 contests in 10 months for just a little bit of my time. So if there are any blogs you visit don't be scared to enter their contest you never know you might be the lucky one.

I found this today, 50 FREE photo cards and free shipping.
http://freebies4mom.blogspot.com/2009/11/50-free-photocards-shipped-free-too.html
This lady was offered a chance to promote her blog with coupon code freebies4mom-1109.
She has a link to some questions about the offer just in case you need a little help. I love the fact that it can be many different designs, so I think I will do half baby announcements and half Christmas cards. Perfect timing for me on this one, now if I can just find some decent pictures to use.

There is a lot of talk about other deals out there from the See here site but not all of them seem to be valid anymore. The code NEWBABY should still work for 50 cards also if you want to do two orders.

Tips for shopping at Walgreens

Since most of my deals are for Walgreens I thought I would link to this ladies site. She spells it all out for you on how to use their in ad coupon with a manufacturer coupon and how to use their Register Rewards. She also talks about some shopping etiquette. If you have any questions leave a comment and I will try to answer them for you, or you can email me at mnmzz@msn.com.

For my Oregon City readers- $.20 off gas at Fred Meyers

For all of you in Oregon City, Fred Meyers is having their Grand Re-opening sale this weekend. In addition to the coupon you can use in the store, today, Friday ONLY, you can get $.20 off per gallon of gas. My hubby filled up this afternoon and it was $2.479 for regular unleaded. He used his reward card but the attendant said it was for everyone so even if you don't have a rewards card go try it out to see if you can get some cheap gas.

Free Juice at Walgreens

I am up feeding my little girl so I thought I would post about my trip to Walgreens tonight. I bought 8 Ocean Spray 100% juice cranberry pomegranate and a Clabber Girl Baking Powder for $.42. The Ocean Spray is on sale for $1.99 this week. This flavor had peelie coupons on it for $1.00 off, plus I used 1 coupon out of the Walgreens November savings book for $1.00 off, that coupon took off $8.00, a $.45 off coupon for the baking powder, and the in ad coupon for baking powder. Final cost $.42.

Here's the link for the baking powder coupon: http://coupons2.smartsource.com/smartsource/index.jsp?Link=5S2ZUA6PWPEPO

EDIT- I DID NOT USE THIS COUPON LAST NIGHT. I HAD PLANNED ON IT BUT IT IS FOR 10 OZ OR 12 OZ BAKING POWDER OR CORNSTARCH. THE ONE ON SALE FOR $.50 IS 4 OZ. SORRY

Walgreens and Maclaren

I have two things for you today. The first is a Kleenex deal at Walgreens. With flu season upon us here is a chance to get some free Kleenex. If you can't use it, get it anyways and donate it to your favorite school or child care.

Kleenex is on sale with an in ad coupon for $1.09, buy 3 boxes
Use the $.50 off 3 manufacturer coupon (give this coupon first)
Then use the $1 off 1 Kleenex coupon from the November Healthy Savings Booklet, it will deduct $3.00 and you only need 1 coupon. These books can be found either by the ad in front of the store or back in the pharmacy.
You will also need one other item of your choice to use the overage on.

So the break down: 3 Kleenex with in ad coupon $3.27
minus manufacturer coupon - .50
minus Healthy savings coupon -3.00
_____
OVERAGE + .23 to be used towards item of your choice

You can print off a coupon from here
http://coupons2.smartsource.com/smartsource/index.jsp?Link=5S2ZUA6PWPEPO for the Kleenex.

Okay and onto Maclaren, there's a recall on their strollers so if this is one you use check out their website to see about getting the piece to fix the problem. I have the twin so I will be contacting them today. Thanks Misti!

My first post....it's a little scary. I have been holding back for a while because of this first post. I think I am ready to take the plunge. I'll tell you a little about me so we can get to know each other first. I am married to Ryan for just over 4 years now. We have two sons who are 3 and 19 months, and one sweet little girl who is 18 days old today. We live in Oregon and I am a stay at home Mom. I do my best to save my family money, find fun activities to do with my little ones, and to be a good example for my children and others. We are a work in progress and that's okay.
My goal for this blog is to share the deals I find, the activities I am doing with my children, and any tips I think might help someone else along the way. If you ever have any questions please feel free to email me at mnmzz@msn.com.
Thanks for stopping by.
